• Detour presents live music 7 days a week.
• We are open from 4pm to 2am Sun. to Thurs., and from 4pm to 4am Fri. & Sat.
• $3 Happy Hour runs from 4pm to 7pm 7 days a week.
• Live Music runs from 9pm to 12:30 Sun. to Thurs. and from 10pm to 1:30am Fri. & Sat.
• There is no cover charge to see the music most nights of the week; all we ask is that you buy a minimum of 2 drinks, and tip the musicians generously!
• 21 and over are only allowed at Detour. Driver's License or passport required.

History

Detour openend in 1995 with a strong mission to bring live tradional and experimental jazz to the East Village in a non-pretentious and relaxed atmosphere. After six years in business Detour has earned the reputation of being one of the finest and well-liked jazz venues in New York City.

As the only true cover-free jazz club, Detour offers musicians and the audience alike an opportunity to improvise and grow — to feel at liberty to take chanses they might not consider taking at other venues.

Happy Hour

Detour is a great after work spot featuring a $3.00 Happy Hour from 4pm to 7pm seven days a week. Occasionally, live music is featured from 6-8pm. Check the Calendar page and Special Events page for more information.

All musicians are booked at Detour though submissions of CDs, Press kits, and other relevant material that is reviewed by our booking agent.

Please be advised that we receive a large volume of submissions for a limited number of available dates and we cannot book everyone that wishes to play at Detour. Please be patient and wait for us to call you. Do not call the club directly, we do not handle booking over the telephone.

Get a Tattoo
